I ILLUSTRATED National Short Story Competition "CARVALLO CARLOTA DE NUÑEZ"
Plan for the Promotion of Reading the cultic center of Spain 2009

Objectives: To promote the publication of illustrated children's fiction in tribute to the writer Carlota Carvallo de Núñez.



BASES 1. Be open to writers and illustrators Peruvian adults up to 45 years, to submit original and unpublished works.
2. The theme of the story is a free choice, having to be aimed at readers 8 to 11 years. Each submitted work to consist of a collection of no less than three stories. The jury will evaluate the balance and harmony between text and illustration.
3. The minimum size of the book is 16 pages and up to 30 pages. Be submitted in five copies, collated, numbered, and ringing in A-4 size paper, printed in color, single sided, in Arial 12 pt., Double spaced with a computer.
4. You can illustrate the work with no more than 1 figure per sheet, or with at least one illustration per two pages of text. The technique employed may be either reproducible print.
5. Authors who wish to participate will compete under a pseudonym and with a single job, which may converge with an illustrator. Indispensable, in a separate envelope and sealed, bearing the pseudonym and the title of the work outside of the envelope, and inside the file containing names, address, telephone number, both the author of the text and illustrator if different. The envelope will remain closed, except to obtain prize.
6. Both the five copies of the work and the electronic in Word format, should be labeled with the title of the work and the pseudonym, and are due in a sealed envelope on the outside say FOR THE FIRST PICTURE STORY CONTEST "CARVALLO CARLOTA DE NUÑEZ." Inside the envelope is included with the application form with personal data of the author and / or illustrator, mentioned in the previous section. Be sent to:

6. The author of the winning story will receive a prize of $ 2,000 (two thousand dollars) and the publication of his work by the Grupo Santillana.
7. The author of the winning work exclusively assign its rights of serial publication within two years.
8. The jury will consist of three renowned authors and knowledge of the area of \u200b\u200bChildren's Literature.
9. The deadline for completed work on Friday July 31, 2009, at 7 pm
10. Entries can be submitted by mail, shall be deemed the filing date is contained in the stamp.
11. The Jury will be announced during the third week of September 2009. The respective award will be made in a public ceremony to be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2009.
12. The works presented to the Competition may be picked up at the Bureau of Cultural Center Spain Parts 1 to October 15. Accomplished works that date will be destroyed.
13. The organizers take care of the preservation of the stories, but are not responsible for lost or loss of data.
14. The presentation of a work to the contest implies the undertaking by the author from public be withdrawn before the Jury, and the full acceptance by it of all the conditions of competition. Any differences in interpretation of these rules shall be resolved by the jury.
